From what the news here is saying a record snow storm is predicted for many parts of the US, one State even banning driving after 4 o clock.

Keep safe please and we hope you will get through it okay.

We have been starved for snow up here in the winter wonderland for so long that a lot of us are looking forward to a good old fashioned snow storm. I hope we get so much that the U900 UNIMOG won't push it and I will have to get the D6-9U out. Everything is full of fuel and the freezer is full. Yup, I might have a sickness!

These are some photos of our D7Es on Jan 26th 1978, we had 18" of snow and 2" of ice underneath with 60 mph winds that made 20' drifts!

We only got about 6" where I am in Western NY but I was talking with a work colleague who's in Southern NH and his weatherman is telling him 2'. This snow, which is what came over from the Midwest is very dense and heavy, so all the trees are fit to break. I hope I don't lose any of my ornamentals.
Cheers,
Neil

I'm about 15 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, Southern Maine. They have been forecasting 18 to 24 inches of snow for us, was supposed to start Fri evening, BUT they missed it by about 12 hours, started Fri morning, and at 8 PM we already have about 10 inches, so I'm guessing we will get around 30 inches. It's been years since we have been dumped on like this, but I have two wood racks full of firewood, tractor is full of diesel, my wife always keeps enough food to go around 3 weeks. Just have to wait for it to stop, but they say it will be another 24 hours before that happens. Then it warms up to around 50 on Mon and Tues with rain. Fun, fun.

Southern Wisconsin got 6 inches of very wet snow, dropped down to 20 this morning, warmed to 26 today.
It'll stick to the trees for a day or two.
Plowed 9 inches of snow out of the driveway this morning.
Didn't bother with the 3 inches from a week ago.

Neil, Head towards the lake. I'm right on the lake in Pultneyville. Had about 12 inches when I got home last night. Spent 1.5 hours shoveling and snow blowing. Haven't been out yet this morning, but Deck has another 5 inches or so this morning. I'm sure some is from drifting, I get a lot of that.

Thank goodness ours isn't heavy and wet. Wind has been whipping all night. At 6:00 AM the local weather reported that the next town to mine was reporting 30 1/2 inches of snow and 6 more hours to go. Looks like I should have put the diesel fuel in the dozer, not the tractor.

It got me too, but I didn't get the snow.

My Mercedes OM 460 LA diesel workshop manual that was going to be here today did not get shipped since the printer is located there and had to shut down due to government orders not to drive during this storm. I believe it was Maine where they were located?

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
