I am working on my pony motor on my 1945 D4 5T and have a few questions.

I was wondering if anyone has a picture of the proper terminal ends that plug into the magneto? I purchased some new plug wires...I have 2 different type of ends that I could install. 4 of them are brass clam-shell types and the other 4 are silver and longer.

I couldn't get the old terminals out without removing the magneto plate? Is there anything that I need to double check/make sure is connected? I hated like heck opening that plate up...but didn't really have much of a choice. I made a new gasket for it. Are there any ground wires or anything that connect to that play or the plates screws??? The plate seems to be plastic.

I am super worried...changing plug wires shouldn't have been that big of an issue!!!

Thanks,

Casey

I think mine has the Eisemen RC-2H. I will check it out and post what I find tomorrow.

I purchased the small brass looking clamshell ones that fit right on the end of the wire and the ones that came with the wire are different from those.

I will try to take a pic of the two types. The wire kit is conductor wire from Belden and seems to be pretty good quality!!!

I've never built plug wires before...so this will be an experience. Anyone have any advice???

After cleaning off years of caked on dirt and oil, I discovered a very nice and shiny name plate that says my Magneto is a good 'ol Bosch American. Not sure what model it would be.

I went ahead and built my plug wires. Everything seems to be pretty good...a lot better than the old rigged together and decaying wires that it had on it.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
