I have no spark. Pony tried to fire twice then nothing. Have new solid wires and checked for spark with screw driver to frame and none on either side. I looked in the service manual and it said to check points for correct gap fo .014 to.018 I will do this tomorrow. If the points are clean and set right what's the next step? New points and condencer. Are these still avalible from Cat? Are there any other things I should check? Never been into a magneto before so it's all new. Any help would be appreicated. Also the kill switch wire was removed to eliminate it as a potential issue.

Thanks

Clean the points. They'll oxidize and not make contact. Sand or file them, clean them REALLY good and reset the gap. That works 98% of the time.👍

If it really did fire a couple times you could have condensation in there too.

It would help if you would say what brand of mag it is or post a pic.

I have to clean the points on a couple of my machines when they set though out the winter. As far as points and condenser Cat still had them two years ago when I checked. They stocked them in the warehouse in MN. Most the time a good cleaning will be all you need. I keep a point file with me when working on the old machines.
