I removed the carb and the electric starter and then started cleaning.
The carb was not to difficult, now that I learned how with the genset pony.
The starter was difficult, 15 years to the weather had seized it up pretty good.
However a week of penetrating oil and a bit of heat got it apart.
Cleaned it and checked out and reassembled it and it worked fine on the bench.
Installed carb on the engine with a small plastic fueltank zipptied to the manifold.
Put the starter on and then just hooked up a booster pac to the solinoid.
The little pony never made a half turn and it was running.
Surprised me so much I near fell off the track.
A bit of tuning and it runs pretty sweet.
My original fuel tank is toast so I was pretty happy to have a good usable spare to use.
Got that on this evening and re did the lines and shutoffs.
Also replaced the start switch.
Got a battery today that fits in the battery box, have some wiring to do but should be okay.
Need a switch that goes in the battery box but think I have a good one at work.
Things are going along very nice for the old crawler.
A friend is converting a spare generator to make 12 volts...I need cheap and simple lights.
He said no problem, so I hope he is right.
A few pics this weekend if the weather is okay.
