So I managed to loosen up the right track by myself with help from someone that is helping me build my corral and fences

I needed a couple wrenches the cordless impact gun heavy duty I bought a couple years ago it required a fully charged battery though because the nuts were stuck by decades old rust

a pipe wrench and a pipe for leverage some common sense voila! Oh and water turns out water loosens up rusted bolts better than penetrating oil

previously I took the center bolt to the machine shop to get it renewed and put it back in position

now I have no steering left or right I will adjust tomorrow

I received the acmoc magazine in my mailbox last week it’s very cool to look at all the machines from around the world!

That's great news Captain Beans. Improvising is normal here. Back in my early days on the farm, we didn't have those fancy cordless tools; I am very spoiled today with all of my new to me 18 volt Milwaukee toys. The old school mechanics did a lot using only a handful of tools, a BIG hammer being their most used one! Brute muscle and some common sense got a lot accomplished.
Hope to see more pictures of you farming. JM

I did not have an impact wrench but used a torch and got things good and hot and it finally came loose. Glad to see you are making progress. I know it feels good to actually get things like that completed successfully.

I recall one of the issues was a track chain with non correct master pin that had hogged out the link pin holes. As this is a hunting tooth sprocket arrangement that needs to be taken car of or the stretched pitch at the master pin will see every tooth on the sprocket and rapidly wear the sprocket out.

its surprising how well water can work as a solvent and more the fact of removing dirt frees things to move.

"i reject your reality and substitute my own" - adam savage. i suspect my final words maybe "well shit, that didnt work"

instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality

So the machine is steering to the left again and the tracks are not super tight anymore! It’s incredible how well made these machines are!

https://youtube.com/shorts/jDgZ0CN9wsg?si=kyqR8pmBi23wTYwm

So yeah the spring center bolts are very important and it was very important to retighten and machine the bolt that unfastened by itself l. It wasn’t broken I found out that the bolt is used to compress the spring so that it would fit inside the track then the nut can be backed off, however without the center bolt in place if the spring broke in pieces or something unexpected happens because of the compression force there is a real risk something deadly may happen to you so rhanks for the advice

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
