Hopefully you guys wont hang me or kick me out of the club, but i got a chance to buy a nice oliver cletrac dozer with a 9.5 foot blade in nice shape. I was wondering if anybody could tell me what year, horsepower, where it was built or anything else about this particular dozer. It's a model # bdh serial # 10d398 i think the h in bdh may stand for heil cause the blade is a heil. I've done some searching and think its may be a 1947 but not sure. It came with a starter. Know sign that it ever had a pony. Any info at all would be appreciated.thanks oldbluecat..

I'm still digging for the year of build but I can tell you the BDH is "B" for model B, "D" is for Diesel and "H" is for Hillside (wide gauge model). Should be a six speed 1939-up.

Hello and welcome! I have a Cletrac and Oliver crawlers in the barn too and they do get along. The B is the model, the D is for diesel and the H is for what they called Hillside for wide gauge. It was built in Cleveland Ohio. Heil was a separate blade manufacturer. The engine should be a Hercules diesel.

Joining this club is one of the best things i ever did, you guys are always a wealth of information and always have the answers or direct guys where to get them. I,m probably going to buy the crawler, just have to wait for the guy to get home from vacation. I cant wait to get her. Mean while i,m really going to do my homework. By the way it has a 9.5 foot blade.a little big for the woods when i tug trees i have a 7.5 laplante-choate blade about the same age you guys ever heard of them being interchangable. There both manually pinned. And i will keep working on the year. Thanks again. When i do get her i will try and have one of my kids show me how to post pictures of here.

OLDBLUECAT,

You can go to http://www.cletrac.org to find answers to your questions. There is a discussion forum there similar to this forum. It is not as active as ACMOC but there are people there that can help you. There is also an active California Club that can be found here: http://www.CalOliverCletrac.org. Cletrac will be the featured marquee at Tulare next year to honor their 100 year anniversary.

The Cletrac website only shows the early B models.
1939 up models run from 5D000 to 20D387 ending in 1954. Can't find the exact year. Engine is a 6-cyl Hercules model DJXB-C
