On Sat. afternoon, Mar. 11, I-70 South of St George Utah, headed south, we passed a dark gray or dark blue Ram 3500 dually pulling a load of old iron. looked to be maybe a Best Thirty, a small Gas Cat, Fifteen or Twenty maybe, and a Holt engine on a steel-wheeled cart. We were headed to the NASCAR race in Las Vegas, & kind of forgot about the load until I was looking at pics on the wife's phone...she got a quick video as we passed the load, I was driving so couldn't rubberneck too much, traffic was kinda thick right then too. I was hoping the guy would stop in Mesquite where we did, but never saw him again...we got way ahead in the Virgin River Canyon.
Anybody know about this load? I suspect it was headed for CA...

Hey Ronm,

It sounds like you are describing WyoCat's load headed to California. Chad went out to the Warne Auction a little early and delivered some stuff.

And then... he is sweet talking me into hauling him a load from California this next week... oh boy...hahaha

Come to Santa Margarita in May and you can get a close look at the entire load. Wide PV 15, 1921 Best 30 and 1910 Aurora 45 harvester engine on cart. All purring and in their work clothes.

Cool! I kinda thought someone on here would know about that stuff...
I don't know about Santa Margarita this year-my wife is dealing with ageing parents, we'll have to see what develops with that situation...would be fun though, I know! We got to do the NASCAR thing just before things hit crisis mode again.
I'm sorta proud of myself for coming that close on the ID while blowing past at 75 in traffic...😄
When she gets time to get me the video off her phone, I'll try to post it, just for fun...

My ears have been ringing for a couple of days. I couldn't remember the Mrs. yelling at me and hurtin' my ears. Well now I know why.

RONM, yep that was me. It would have been great to stop and visit with you. Gee, that traffic was crazy that evening in and around Vegas! Here are some better pictures of the load.

Cool! Yes, it would have been fun to catch you at a gas station or something...
You think traffic was bad then, you're lucky you didn't go through after the race Sunday...southbound I-70 was a parking lot. Backed up about 5-6 miles from the speedway exit on into Vegas. We hung a right & headed back up to Mesquite, wasn't bad that direction.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
