But I’m a glutton for punishment. The next victim is this early Diesel Fifty. It was a snow plow tractor for the Gennesee Idaho road district. They had a belt pulley as well and they would use it to power a rock crusher in the summer. It’s got snow sprockets and right hand controls. Both brake pedals and steering clutch levers are on the right hand side of the transmission case. It’s early enough to have the old Diesel Sixty style starting engine and drop box into the starting bendix. This was one of the late Dick Lloyd’s tractors. Some may remember Dick from the bulletin board years ago. Here are some pictures.

Hi, Bruce P.
Well, either you're a glutton for punishment - or you're a DEDICATED Cat resurrector. I'll leave you to 'figger' out which.
Please feel free to share the journey - as you usually do. We'll cheer you on.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
BP: To think that you text me with a diversionary D7E the other night. LOL. I will set my egg timer to see how long you "need" to get the 50 operational. I am amazed you do not have one of the kids help video you and create some YouTube videos. I would gladly contribute to your channel.
I think most of us are guilty of taking on additional projects. My often used phrase is "STOP IT SOME MORE". Have fun BP!
Interesting how it has more of the Cat 35,40, RD6 look with the fuel tank in front of the operator. As the Cat 50's I remember had a seat tank, the same as my old RD 7 had. My old RD 7 had different style throttle as well. But also different from the very early Cat 35, I am familiar with. Good luck Bruce. Hope it doesn't fight too much.
Bruce - You have budding videographers in the wings, we are all anxious to see their efforts filming Dad as he finds the way to resurrect this machine. Waiting with baited breath here. Best to the family please. -- cts
Looks like a good starting point Bruce, nice diversion work on JM by the way
Well once again, I typed a nice long response and presto, ye olde website ate it. Oh well. Anyway thanks for the encouragement.
Here is a picture of the decoy D7E. It’s a real sweetheart.
Hi, Bruce O.
Maybe helpful hint - ifyer having trubble with the site eating your posts, try writing them first in something like MSOffice, Star Office or LibreOffice and then copy them to the site. That way, if the site does lunch onyer post, you still have it to try again.
