Not much will happen except maybe it won't last as long. Lang lay cable is more flexible which suits CCU's due to the number of sheaves they go around. The main thing is to get the correct number of wires and strands. I usually use whatever is available at the time and the difference in life of the cable is significant.
Should use 1/2" 6x25 wire core, right lang lay.
Book says 1/2" 6x19 independent core improved plow steel. Would 6x25 be better?
