Bruce,
Wow...what a collection of stuff. I especially like the pictures of the two steam shovels. Do you know what brand that huge white one is with the double dipper handles? That looks huge. And the Bucyrus rail shovel...it's amazing those even survived with their limited use.
Thanks for posting those.
Pat

Last time I saw a hat like yours it was on a wanted poster! Are you hiding out down south from the law? Regards Andrew
Not being blessed with many brain cells as you know Andrew, I need to protect the few remaining one's as best I can in case they get fried by the sun, it's OK for Eddie to go topless, he has brain cells by the bucket load and wouldn't miss a few billion!😆 Did you find those 5/16' rivets yet, I'll give you a hint seeing you are such a nice polite fella when allowed out in public by your wife, look at your past editions of the THOMM magazine for the source.
regards
Mike

Hi Team,
Bruce --thanks for the great pix. Did not get far around the exhibits as I got stopped almost at seemingly every step by people I know and needed to say Hi to. MMmm should of gone for two days.
Your pix now give me an idea of what I missed--many thanks.
Was great to catch up with some ex work mates and also put faces to many who post here.
At this Rally we were blessed with the attendance of a Product Line Manager from Cat of Australia who told us of a current restoration project being undertaken by Volunteers.
C of A have procured an early Australian production No 12 E, 21 F serial numbered, Motor Grader.
A team of boys get together, after hours, at C of A to do the resto work.
I have been invited to come and look see.
A part of the project is to get details of the correct decals for the time period. The decals and even machine designation seems to have changed over the years for the same product.
Luckily I have an Australian Printed Parts Book, Form No M 1015, Published April 1960, for the 21F1 up, grader, so I will be conversing with Peter on this.
Most striking thing I saw, in the short distance I got, was an operational model of a Cat 60 tractor, it was something to behold.
We were scheduled to arrive on site at 10.15 am. but, the 1 mile long car queue at the carpark entrance and beyond meant we were some 2 hours late. I think the queue eventually extended out behind us about another mile as we slowly crept towards the Rally site. Never seen so many people at a Steam Rally---well done Lake Goldsmith team for setting the bar so high for future rallies. I guess it was the lure of their 100th that made the difference.
Cheers,
Eddie B.
