I can't remember who it was on here that told me to be careful about catching cat fever but I am afraid it's too late haven't had my first cat even a week yet and I have all ready had it to a show I hope to try and save as many of these wonderful machines from the scrap yard and be able to pass them on to future generations to enjoy

There is no cure for the curse. Only maintainance medicine. Go out and get another CAT for a temporary fix.

Plowboy, go get one that doesn't run and is quite rusty. That'll test your mettle : ) The funnest part is every part you disassemble and get freed up uncovers another, deeper buried / more expensive part that is also frozen up. This process will consume hours of enjoyable time - be sure to have a good gas set, some loose juice of your choice, a scraper, and a good set of starting and bottoming taps - it'll keep you amused for hours! : )

Cheers,
Neil

Apparently old iron is drawn to other old iron. So once you get one, others seem to appear everywhere you look. πŸ˜†
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare timeπŸ˜„

YES!!!! the first easy quick project leads to "that was easy, I'll do another" and so it goes more time and more dollars I have been working on a Sixty project for so long that it must be done in this life time and then on to the next.

Well I have found in the past that choosing your battle's correctly and admitting defeat is one of the most important things in this kind of work/ hobby I have about 20 antique tractors and I have to say that you can't save them all and some times putting one to death to save a few others is just as rewarding

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
