Hi, MrsMP.
It ackshully looks to me like a cross between an elevating grader and a Holland loader style of machine.

The first 2 are of a Cat Elevating Grader, a number 48, I think, and the last pair are of a Holland loader.

Hope this helps.

mrsmackpaul, Deas Plant.

Boys that a Euclid BV Belt loader. Looks like one of the smaller ones, they made four (4) different sizes, back in the day.
They have removed the tracks and installed a set of wheels for moving.
Looks, like they are lifting the power lines over the conveyor.

Hi, MrsMP.
They were normally used for loading trucks or other haulage units via the belt elevator that you can see sticking up at the rear, the same one which appears to giving them some static getting under power lines. The machine would take a cut out of a bank on the left side front, feed it the elevator and then into whatever haulage unit happened to be under the belt.

The various elevating graders worked in a similar fashion but on a smaller scale.

THIS is an elevating scraper - Cat parts but I don't think it was built by Cat - somebody wanted something bigger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Bmt1ux_h0M

Hi, Kelly. Thanks for the ID, M8. I sorta thought it was a belt loader but could not figure out which one. That looks like an 'Alices' Pyjamas' crawler on the float, maybe an HD16.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
