Interesting tour of Hawthorn Caterpillar in San Diego; Branch 16

Had a Great day seeing a very modern, clean and environmentally conscious CAT dealer in San Diego.......a great day for our Chapter....
Technically this is the smallest dealer with the LARGEST coverage area as it has stores in Hawaii and Guam..........

That is their main office; it is actually in Rancho Bernardo area; they outgrew the area right in San Diego and bought about 15 acres in the
middle of nowhere and now are surrounded by Industrial buildings!!

Sadly a week after that picture was taken at Hawthorne CAT and the Thursday morning we all were leaving for Tulare, Terry Luppold was
found dead in his home by his sister. He had told my wife that he enjoyed his job so he was NOT going to retire at 62, but wait til 65! He had
no wife or kids. We never know when our time is up..
