Hi Folks
The California Agriculture Museum is presenting "
Images of Power, from California's past" It is a project that
Jack Alexander and I have been working on using his postcard collection as a visual guidepost to understanding early California ingenuity. The stars of the show are Daniel Best, Benjamin Holt and an evolution of machines from the 1800s up to about 1920. This project has been great learning experience laced with observation and discovery. The exhibit opens today and it will keep expanding for
Tractors & Brews on
June 7th at the museum in Woodland. You're all encouraged to attend!
Can you identify the machines in each postcard? For those of you who know all, the exhibit gives you an opportunity to tell all. For those of you who continue to discover, maybe the presentation will enlighten you in some area of early ingenuity. We're introducing people to the mystery of tractors and harvesters who never knew they liked old iron by viewing early postcards that featured California's sights -- steam traction, engines, harvesters, and lots of grain.
