Hello CAT fans everywhere,

I was asked recently by a scratch scale model builder, the vital measurements that he requires to build the model of a "D9" series "G".
I have been able to supply most of them apart from one. Therefore my question is, can anyone give me the overall diameter of the front idler on these tractors please., for this I would be most greatful indeed.

Thanks in advance.

Sincere regards to you ALL.

I checked the parts books, service manual, custom track service handbook and my after market reference for the D9G and it's not in any of them.

Took the numbers off a idler that I have--Here goes--app.37 inches across-
117 inches in total dia,--21 inches width--blocks are 6 3/4 x 7 inches.
Hopes this helps

Hello Ols Magnet & Al Engines,

Many many thanks to you both for your efforts and assistance with my search for the dimensions of the "D9" Series "G" tractor front idlers. I will certainly pass the measurements on to the person who intends building from scratch a 1/5th scale working replica, which will be radio controlled.

Once again my most sincere thanks. GREAT SUPPORT !!!

Sincere regards

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
