Trying to identify this transmission, no gears, just a shaft and clutch, the engine married to it is a 2-53 Jimmy, looking for the input shaft, it has 10 splines going in the flywheel and it is approximately 20.5 inches long, it's just push/pull engagement.
Bad pick I know, but it's all I got, the unit is out at a mine that you have to fly out to, any reply would be great, I'm sure it's not a 1010, can anyone identify the housing, I was told it's out of a John deere

You never know, sometimes guys would just whip up some system and make it work with what ever parts they had. Good luck I hope it works out.

Lots of stuff that would bolt up to a Detroit back in the day! They were made to mate up to stuff and everyone made stuff to match up to them.

Only thing JD that had a 2-53 was the 435D/440ID tractor that was produced for two years around 1959-1960-ish. The transmission and clutch housing on those tractors looks very different unless that's a bad picture.......worse than it looks like to me.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Here's the clutch shaft, where the splines are worn is where the clutch hub rides on.
Clutch is always engaged unless you engage it free.
Can I just rig the clutch hub solid on the shaft either by key or weld?

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
