I am looking for the specification page for the winch listed above.

The manual I downloaded years ago has a spec page for the Auxiliary winch but not for the main winch.

The Allied site doesn't seem to have the D4 N publications listed anymore.

Thanks for your help out at HCEA show - also to Sam Descutner and Jim Carter.

We got through that job and everyone had the same number of toes and fingers that they had when they started.

Just for curiosity, what is the difference between a D4N winch and a D4 winch. I have one ( straight Hyster D4) from a WW2 era Cat that my dad later put on his RD4. From the page that Rome posted, it seems that they both will fit on the early D4s. Thanks Grant.

I believe the main difference is in the controls. A little different in total weight. I suspect but don't know for sure about the guts being the same without doing major parts break down comparison.

Internally they are pretty much the same except for the brake. The D4N brake is a big improvement over the D4 brake.

Maybe I will see if it is restorable since it will fit on my D4 6U. It has sat on the ground for 40 years or so but doesnt look too high tech to be unrestorable. Thanks for the info. Grant.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
