Greetings All - I'm looking to replace the edge on a HT4 loader. An IK9764 bucket assembly, cutting edge IK5388 and adding on tooth group IK9734. I emailed the area Cat dealer, and asked that given the age of the machine, '53, what the numbers are that superceeded the original. They got back to me saying my numbers were correct, imagine that, and those parts are NLA and go aftermarket. My background and experience is with green Deere, they 1. have the pdf files for every machine they ever made online for FREE and 2. they always, always, always find a way to solve the problem. My question is did I run into a new parts artist or is this the way it is with CAT. I don't mind paying 10 -15% more for "genuine" parts if the company takes an interest and the parts fit the first time. Another issue is the cutting edge is cracked,
having read in this forum that CAT GET are warranted for life, how much of jerk should I be? writing this has calmed me down a bit, cheap therapy thanks

Is it a bolt on or weld on? If it is a weld on you can source from any reputable supplier. If it is bolt on measure your bolt hole diameter and spacing to source through a supplier such as HL mesabi. They are good to deal with.

Yes, in my experience that is the way Cat is most of the time.

The cutting edge for that bucket is riveted on. There are other 80" bucket options that have weld on edges. I think you would have better luck after market with weld on and tooth adapters and tips to match.

Thanks to all who responded. Obviously new to Cat world. This bucket has had a used life, fixes and welds in corners and edges and am leaning towards replacing the bucket. I previously posted about replacing with a 4 in 1, prior to acquiring the machine- thanks to SkipinCT- and headed in that direction more so now. I'd rather do it right once, hardware and plumbing.
I was hoping OM would chime in, given the experience. I have more questions, chief among them now is about manuals. I have Parts and Ops for D4 and HT4 already, as well as Service for the tractor, are there separate manuals for the 315 engine as well?
Sooner or later I'll get into the engine, runs fine but I'm that way. If I have a yellow in the field of green Deere, it's got to stand out like a dandelion in the lawn.

The HT4 itself utilizes the same engine, chassis, parts and service manual as the "U" model D4.

I got that, what I meant is there a separate service manual for just the 315? Serviceman's, shop, dealer, what ever? Comparing once again to Deere, their
engine manuals have repair functions down to nuts and bolts, as well as process
breakdown to modules and efficiency instructions.

No pics yet, and too new to have problems. Altered landscape fantasies stage right now. I can really see how this whole Cat obsession thing starts.
