How wide is the blade on the new D9E model?

any know how wide the blade is?

The original D9E 9S blade is 14' 1 1/8" wide. If the scale is 1:25 and accurate, that makes the blade on the model, a whisker over 6¾" wide - 6.765" to be precise.

Incidently- I just found an old blueprint of my Father's for a D9G blade guard and it shows that the blade width for the G Series (Semi-U) is 13'3"---guess they shrunk it a little for the next series!> I will be posting the print and photos as soon as I get them scanned.

Joseph - That is an interesting design change you've noted. The D9E and D9G straight blades were both Semi-U design .. but the D9G blade was the first to feature the torsion bar arrangement behind the blade that took the stress off the blade, the blade braces, and the sidearms when tilting the blade.
I would presume that the narrower blade was part of the redesign when this was done. The difference in width between the "E" and "G" blades is quite surprising.

My 1961 blade spec sheet says 13' 5¼" for the D9G, 9S blade width. I would put this down to differences in end bit design.
The early blade end bits were just flat section .. the later ones were a heavier cast design with a raised and thickened corner that was angled outwards a little more than the original flat end bits .. thus accounting for the additional couple of inches.
