We just bought a 955L traxcavator a few days ago. It was running great and all of a sudden the right track came loose off the front roller. It came partially off of the rear and it is still on the sprocket at the top.
I loosened the grease fitting so that I could push the front roller toward the back. The track is still on the rear sprocket on the top. I don't know how to get it back on. Right now I am stuck in a brush pile.
I was hoping that if I could get the rear jacked up and then the track might rethread itself by rotating the rear sprocket in reverse.
Just engaging that steering clutch very gently in reverse might make the sprocket roll back into the track............IF the track is in alignment on the top. If you can winch, come a long or bar the track back onto the front idler after pressing down with the bucket, you will have a lot better chance that it will feed onto the sprocket without falling completely off.
It's always easier to get the front on if the back is still on. Worst is completely off of both front and back, In that case I would jack the back up and get the track on the sprocket and as many track rollers and the bottom of the front idler if possible. Then set it down on the track so you can lift/winch/bar the top side back on the front ilder at the front/top.
