Im looking at a D-7 for parts and maybe run again. My D-7 I have now is serial number 3t-26208 the one I am looking at is a d-7 17a 11438 . It doesnt look to be turbo charged. I mainly am looking at the pulling winch on the rear and the c-frame and angling blade . But I also might try to get it going .Locked up , You know the story , running when parked. So who knows what is on the inside. Wondering how many parts will interchange with my 3-t . Thanks Tim

Hi, Tim M.
The experts will likely be along shortly to 'corr-wrecked' me if I am wrong but I think the winch and the blade will certainly interchange and much of the other 'stuff' will too, even down to the main frames and tracks. As I understand it, it was around the change from 3T to 17A that the blade lift went from 4 falls of rope to 6 falls, which meant different sheave blocks top and bottom of the blade lift but I think the actual sheave blocks will interchange from one to the other.

The 17A engine was a little more 'grunty' and there may have been some slightly different ratios in the transmission.

Just my 0.02.

I looked up old conversations and it doesnt look like a whole lot matches but some does. So now I have to figure whats the blade and winch worth to me. After adding moving the machine costs.

I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
