About 1 qt in pony to fill to upper line on dip stick, stopped. About 4 gals in diesel engine checked at low idle on level ground to upper line on stick.
No multigrade oiL,not designed for old engines!l! single grade oil 30 wt viscosity was USED PREVIOUSLY ,series 3 ,then 2105 military spec then changed to a CD rated ,now thats up dated , ask oil dealer for up dated spec
I am currently using Citgard 500 30 wt oil in my older Cat and JD engines.
Hope any of this is a help

I have a 1941 D2 3j that I just changed the fluids in. (oil)
Make sure you change the oil in the pony motor more often than in the big motor.
Gas from the carberator tends to find its way to the oil in the pony motor crankcase
and dilute the oil.
Just my two cents........👋

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
