I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a final drive off a d6c 76a series would fit onto d6c 10k series. I have a d6c 10k series that someone borrowed and smoked the rear right final drive called cat dealer near me and was quoted over 18,000 for a final drive. Found a d6c 76a series for sale near me for $4,500 for the whole machine so I hope they swap. Any info is helpful.
Thanks Clinton

s/n's matter. F.D. gears from the 76A's interchange to 10K3968
F.D. pinion from 76A3747-up interchange with the 10K
Reduction pinion from the 76A 's interchange with up to 10K3968
A lot of other parts look like they will interchange but I did not check all.

He who borrows should return in good order.

I think the gears will interchange as a group, but be careful, a different tooth count will give a different travel speed, best put the parts books side by side and compare.

Within reason.

There is a difference between someone broke and something broke.

When someone borrows your $800 chain saw and returns it in a bucket because they dropped a tree on it. :mad2:

But when something breaks that was destined to anyways. Well stuff happens. That's the risk you take borrowing, helping someone out, or running a business.

Wonder what they were doing when it broke.

They borrowed it and got a bunch of barbed wire wrapped up that took out seals. They never stopped and checked until it was to late. Going to get serial number this afternoon to see if it will fit.
