Hello all, How do you remove the 7B7025 Pulley from the 4F8462 electric start housing. I know you need to remove the 3 bolts holding the pulley, but do you need a puller to revove it from the shaft? Thanks for any help. Joe Giraud. Bye the way...... Happy New Year to All.

Hi Joe,
Here are the instructions.
This was another Cat design disaster and the reason so many of them are buggered up.

Thanks Old Magnet. I need to change the belt on the pulley. Would you happen to have the Cat number for the belt or better yet a cross reference number for a Napa, Gates or other brand of belt. Thanks again and have a Happy New Year.

The belt for the starting mechanism is 6B5653 bt if you get it from Cat this number may be changed but they have the changeover number. Take the old belt with you as they can measure it with a special belt measure or it can be done by putting a mark on the belt & the floor or whatever & roll the belt around till the belt mark comes to the floor again & mark that spot & measure between the two marks for the belt length. Most if not all places has a chart or book with different lengths of belts so they just match your length & width with the book & give you one.At times at the Cat shop you didn,t have a number for a belt so thats how I arrived at a belt to fit & customers if they needed a belt for other than a Cat machine or whatever.

Thanks for the info SJ. I threw the old belt out, so I'll just go with the Cat Number you gave me. I'm sure Cat will have changed the part number, but will have a new number for the belt. Happy New Year!

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
