We absolutely loved Maui--you can snorkel all around the island and the Molokina crater is awesome---go to the top of the Haleakala volcano, take an atv excursion on your way down. Take the road to Hana, but don't take it back, keep going and you go thru many farms, orchards, gulches, and Mountains on the back side
Ask Hank, he is a great guy to visit in Maui, and will know some good places to visit.
out of Pearl harbor some where they grow sugarcane there was an old sugar cane mill museum , I don't remember exactly where ( was like 40 years ago) kind of neat.
There is some good info on youtube on sugarcane museum in Hawaii and many other sites.
On Oahu, head to Ewa, not Ewa beach (pronounced Eva), out to the west end of the Island. The Hawaiian Railway Society has a great display of railroad equipment plus they give rides. I’m not sure if Dole still has a Museum on their pineapple operation. Of course thePunch bowl Cemetery. There is a nice hike up Diamond Head.

A number of years ago there was some great off shore fishing to be had out at the FADs (fish attracting devices). I seem to remember they might have lost some of them in a rare to them storm but not sure if they found them again.
The girl and I and two friends will also be visiting Hawaii . We will be there 3rd to 7th September 2018.
This is some great information to us . We will be on the island of Oahu and besides the Pearl harbour WW2 memorial sites we are ken to get away from the main tourist glitter strip . Please keep up the suggestions.
Andrew--Take the climb up Lion head--you get to go thru a lava tube tunnel to get in the crater and then lookout another to view Waikiki beach--awesome!
Thanks dpendzic and others for the ideas for places to visit while visiting Ohau . These ideas are great and we look forward to visiting these places. Any more information would be welcome.
Thanks.
Andrew.
