Also interested, Mr Hahn of Hahn tractor Stockton, CA worked for Letourneau at one time and has a few patents to his credit, so there may be a Peterson connection there.

MY neighbor worked with peterson cat on the modification of the bucket on the 977 and did demo with his machines in the San Leandro area. Mr. Hahn's family said they orginially called it the Hahn bucket so was just trying to see if any one else remembers this story. thanks , Jay

The late Cliff Hahn owner of Hahn tractor was a nephew to one of the original employees at LeTorneau. I believe he said his father worked there as well.

At any rate when the Stockton plant closed the Hahn's started building tracked rice combines IIRC. Later on with he White dealership they built bed working equipment for asparagus and later permanent drip beds. They also built the Ender hay turner.

Well here we go. These pictures of the clamshell (bucket) are on a 977. One demolition contractor who liked the way the 977 and the clamshell flattened out building, but couldn’t us one because it didn’t have the reach to load his 12.5 foot high box trucks. Peterson extended lift arms by 30” to make the sale. No problem.
