Grader Tire Size

I have a CAT grader s/n 7T1775. All six wheels are 1400-24. My repair books are for a 9K and 7T and they only show 1300-24 tires. What is the correct size and does it make a difference??

Hi Jerome

Well the second time I'm answering this so if you get two?????

The correct size is 1300 tires.

It does not make really any difference which tires you have.

The difference is; 1400 tires are 1" wider, about 2" higher, and normally rated for more weight. The only down side of the 1400's are, the rear tires are a little closer together; if you put chains on both rear axles the chains may interfere if they are not kept tight.
