Always grateful for the wisdom I occasionally harvest from the forum. But today was simply a great day for plowing snow and I thought I would share a few pics. Hanna ('68 12F grader) never missed a beat today. (And before anyone points it out, I know that the front tire treads face the wrong way...) Onfoot, you are all chained up for some serious plowing! Nice Pics!
Is this the same rig that had the leaking differential?

Same rig, D4Jim. And so far (fingers crossed), the leak has stayed sealed. Nary a drop.

Join the queue, Deas! You are one among many who point out my backward-facing front tires. Funny thing, they still roll the same direction as the rear drivers...

Hi, Onfoot.
I DID read your first post. I was being 'ironic' with my comment. I don't givva hoot in 'the hot place' what most people say. It is my firm belief that rotational direction makes a whole lot LESS difference for a rolling tire than it does for a driving tire.

Just my 0.02.

Not to worry, Deas. I very much took your meaning as ironic. My reply about the wheels turning the same direction is likewise in the spirit of irony. The reason I did not get around to swapping the wheels in the summer was that I had not judged the potential value of having the treads reversed to be worth the very real labour that would be involved to make the switch. Your $0.02 makes me think that I judged correctly...

Hi, Onfoot.
'Ackshully', the 'switch' is very easy - just swap the whole wheel and tire from their current sides to ther tuther side.

the theory with the wide vee leading is that they wore less particularly if roading the machine a lot. it was popularised with wheeled tractors doing work such as running field bins to silos or market etc. i think its a old wives tale and really doesnt matter.
