its a D2....serial....6U2811........688 hours...under 3 different tarps...Oregon....pony is free...and by hand..appears to have better compression than the pony on my D4.....was able to get the main crank to wiggle by hand...so its not seized......me and my mechanic buddy (who calls me to help him with old equipment)....are gonna head back up there tomorrow to see what we can make happen....

there were no D2's made with a 6U serial #---perhaps the 6 is a 5??

its a 5U...my bad lol......went and picked it up today....my boss picked it up and loaded it with his shovel......was also the Maiden trip of the gooseneck hitch I installed in my truck a few weeks ago...Babe the Blue Ox earned her name today lol.....I was really skeptical if the D2 would roll......but she did...oil on the tracks was from me disconnecting the hydraulics so the blade would float down the trailer......so far......clutch is stuck....one brake seems stuck.....steering clutches are questionable......main engine I believe is free.....can wiggle the crank a smidge....pony motor turns good....and feels like it has more compression than the one on my D4....just no spark...and according to the meter....668 hrs.....so the fun begins......my friend Pat is in the one pic helping build our sling....and that dump truck in the background of the same pic I scored as well.....just have to figure out how to get it home lol

so...with that serial....what can you guys tell me about this rig

Looks to be in better shape than mine was, and mine runs now. That logging rig makes loading it on to the trailer easy

Yes, your friend did literally pick it up which makes for easy loading! Nice looking tractor. I hope it will fire up and run well for you.

Good looking D2 but the tracks are on backwards. Not that it matters if you part it out. A friend of mine just got back from Alaska. He says there is equipment abandon all over the place.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
