What make generator is it? May be as easy as using a regulator with a "no bat" optional terminal instead of "bat" terminal.
Old Magnet, the generator is an american bosch and is stamped type 21.
You apparently have a model ARKF 130/6-900 A 21 generator with a RGC6AS regulator for service with battery.
To run without battery you need a model ARKF 130/6-900 (6-volt - 900 rpm) B 21 generator with a RGC6C3 regulator.
The generators themselves are the same just the regulator changes the designation.
Without battery you would need to limit the generator output to no more than the 130 watts (1 watt is approximately 1 candle power)
