Wally will chime in here soon, as he mentioned to me knowing a good gauge shop. Here in Oz I was quoted around $500 - $600 to restore a old working 2 Ton Sylphon oil gauge, getting the faces cleaned smooth and hand painted seems to be the big money, the cheaper method is to use a computer generated plastic sticker for the new face, but there are questions about durability over time with the plastic sticker.

Thanks Mike, the price you mentioned was slightly higher than I paid ($450) for the first gauge restoration that I had done. They did an excellent job where I went the first time. I'm sure they used computer graphics but it looked good. Chromed the bezel and calibrated the gauge. Maybe this is the going rate for gauge restoration but I thought it was pretty high.
On a side note. I'm going to Perth in a few months for my job. First time in the land of Oz but should be intersteing. Wouldn't mind checking out some old AU Cats but note sure how much time I will have. The primary goal of the trip is to get the brand new Cats running😆
Here are 2 Sylphon oil guages I have. If this is what you are looking for E-mail me for details. I have others also. - Wally
