working on the new to me D5SA i picked up and while servicing the engine fuel system i pulled the primary fuel
bowl to clean the screen and install a new gasket i noticed the screen hangs down a bit and does not seal against the bottom of the casting, looks like a sleeve or seal of some kind might be missing?my parts book not showing anything other than the screen gasket and bowl. thought i might throw it out here and see if anyone
has run across this, seems kind of useless if it is not up against the housing to catch the incoming fuel but since this is the first time i have messed with a D333C maybe thats how it fits.
thanks in advance if anyone wants to chime in

There are normally 2 types fitted, sometimes both.
One small one is below the Accessory drive housing for the fuel inj. pump.
Also a larger water trap type.
The scans are from a 3306 Engine P.B. but are the same from memory.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
