The needle on the fuel pressure gage on my D7E pegs all the way to the right of the green when I start the tractor up and stays there until the engine is shut down. When the engine is off the needle goes all the way back to the left. I've had the tractor for a year or so and it has always done this. I changed the 3 fuel filters (1 screen filter and 2 paper filters) recently but it made no difference. The paper filters were stopped up real bad. What is the fuel pressure gage showing? Is it a problem if the needle runs all the way to the right? The tractor seems to run normally.
Hello Magneto. That’s exactly how it’s supposed to read. You are good to go. That gauge tells you when the filters are getting plugged, and also fuel transfer pump condition So if it were to start reading less than full then your filters may be getting plugged, or perhaps a transfer pump problem
Expect it to read less than full green at low idle, but it should come right up at engine speeds above idle.
Hope this helps
BP.
The needle on your fuel pressure gauge jumping all the way to the right when the engine is running is a normal phenomenon for this D7E. It does not necessarily indicate that the fuel pressure is too high, but it may be due to an inaccurate display of the gauge or sensor. Since the machine is still running normally, there are no unusual signs such as vibration, stalling, or unusual smoke, there is no need to worry or repair anything.
