A while back someone posted information on the specs for a D2 fuel tank plunger gauge. Now that I'm ready to make one I can't find the info on it. Can anyone tell me where to find this thread? Thanks for any help, John

I saved it the last time Old Magnet posted it. I have enough storage allotment to post it and leave it up for the forseeable future.

Hi Old Magnet, you mentioned that the chart has "both" gauges in response to Stephen's question about whether the chart is for the seat tank or the fender tank. I was under the impression that there had been two sizes of seat tank (before/after 5U13237) and that the two versions on your chart were for 20 and the 26 gal versions of the seat tank. Is it the case that one of them is actually for the fender tank? I was surprised because I didn't think the fender tank was 20+ inches deep but to be honest I haven't looked at one up close.
Cheers,
Neil

Hi Niel,
I think your on to something....
It was a while ago that I made that chart (2007) after being given two sample dip sticks to work with. Guess I didn't pay that much attention at the time. I was not aware there were two different seat tanks or I didn't remember. I agree the two shown are to long for side tanks as the D4 version is only about 14" long. So, either I need to go hunting for the shorter side tank version or maybe someone can fill in the missing dimensions. Is one version of side tank correct?

Thanks for bringing that up. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it before.

Neil, you have read between my lines, thanks for clarifying my statement
I just measured the stick on 5U 8130 with fender tank, no part number noted. The short part was 2" & long part 13".
Gallons measured from the crook is as follows:
1"=20gal
2 1/2"= 18gal
4 9/16"=15gal
6 3/8"=12gal
8 1/16"=9gal
9 13/16=6gal
11 5/8"=3gal

Now someone please make a spiffy drawing & we can all save a copy

I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
