What is the purpose of this blade in the real world?

Most Impressive! (I can't even follow a straight line, which leads to some creating decorating)

Might be for pushing on the huge coal, taconite, or ore piles. It has what I believe is the rescue pod and emergency locator beacon on it for if it falls into a void in the pile made from conveying out from the bottom.

Its a CARON Double Semi-U Trashblade

Patented performance from the industry leader in landfill technology.
The Caron Double Semi-U Trashblade helps make your crawler an even more versatile and efficient machine.
The unique design of the blade forces refuse away from the center of the machine - directly into the path of the tracks where it can be more readily compacted in fewer passes.
A Straight Blade places materials with an even lift thickness under and between the tracks.
On a U-Blade, material flows to the center of the dozer, between the tracks resulting in less compaction.
The Caron Double Semi-U Blade collects materials in two separate sections under the tracks for maximum compaction performance.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
