Well I finally was able to get my new rad installed for a RD7 Power unit I have been working on. It all went well but you can notice a considerable differance in the amout of copper used in todays rads vs. the orginal. The rad did not come pre-drilled but I am glad, that way I know that it was done right. I cut the plate off the old one and used it as a template for the new one.

They will build a radiator to your spec as well. I have gotten a 22 and a 10 radiator from them. All I did was gave them the deminsions of the core and the header plates and I had it to my house within 4 business days. With each of these the headers were not drilled for the bolt holes. That was easy enough though. The 22 radiator was 350 plus ship and the 10 core was 250 plus ship.

You should add the info to the parts thread.

I tried this place for a Ten radiator, gave them the Cat part number T-206
I believe and they told be it was a bad number.

Is there a cross over to another number for modine or another radiator mfg?

I would measure your old core and give them those dim. to match one up to it, depending on the age of the machine they may not have the actual part number referance.

Has this information been put in parts source thread ?It is much handier to look there than to have to look through all threads even with the search by key words.Thank you for passing on the good information.Ray

I have used these guys twice. One for a small twenty and for a d2. I received both of them and had to fix both of them. The outside corners on top and bottom were broke away from the core. I called and fought for 3 days with them about it. They said send back I said who is going to pay for shipping back? They said me. Argued with them till I gave up. Would never buy from them again. They are cheaply built. You have to put the holes in and cut the top and bottom to fit. Just had a ten one made from my resources with holes in it ready to bolt together. Same place made the high twenty two ones. Great job. Price is not everything. Good quality in my books goes a long ways. Just my 2cents. Mike

I'm currently in the market for a new radiator core for my Caterpillar Ten or have the original core cleaned. It didn't leak before I took it apart but it is plugged solid with rust. Anyone have any experience with getting an old Cat radiator rod-out/cleaned? Is it worth trying? Or am I kicking a dead horse. Most places want the top and bottom tanks to test the radiator even though they are not pressurized in normal operation. I guess I'm trying to avoid going through many expensive Olsen top and bottom tank gaskets. It would be nice just to put a new core in it. But hearing what everyone has to say about the options for replacements, it might be worth the hassle of getting mine cleaned. Any thoughts?

I seriously doubt that anyone makes a radiator core that is anywhere near the quality of the original. I would definately try to have the old one rodded out. If you don't want to try it yourself a radiator shop would be able to boil it out and rod it. I just rodded out a RD4 full width radiator that I am putting in my 7U. I used welding rod and air, I am pretty confident it will work out.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
