I was out in my garden preparing to plant more peas for the wild goats to eat, some people call them white tail deer.....I can't type what I'm calling them right now.

Anyway, while in the garden three of the nicest WABCO 339F scrapers went by being driven on the highway. These 339F WABCOs were the nicest I've seen in 40+ years. Clean, straight sheet metal, good paint, good rubber and sounded excellent. They were clipping right along down the highway. I thought the only well kept, nice WABCOs were down under with the Aussies but apparently I have been wrong.

If I can find out where they're working, I'm going to go watch them work one day. It has been many years since I've seen a WABCO in my area.

Sorry, no pictures....wouldn't have a gotten a picture even if I had something to take a picture with, heck, I was in shock.

I see on Machinery Trader that there's one (or more) for sale at Palmetto Machinery in Andrews SC. And did I spy a 12V71TTA under the hood? (or 92)

Guess what? Me and Palmetto Machinery share the same highway....just around 100 miles apart. They're in flat sand country and I am in hilly clay and rock country. Maybe that's where those three were headed. I'll wait a few days and see if they or advertising the three I saw. They looked a little better than the two they are showing right now.

And there's a thread on HEF http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/showthread.php?5118-Wabco-scrapers-at-work that talks about Robertson Contracting using 339Fs in Anderson SC - might be the same rigs?

Found those WABCO machines working just a few miles from home. They were running and operating very smoothly and very quiet(?). Also several very nice International bulldozers, not Dressa or dressta but real Internationals ....there was one CAT grader working that looks like it was bought new just last week but from the age and looks of everything else on the job, it could also be 30+ years old too. The owner really keeps his equipment up.
