Has anyone ever looked at snapping a clutch brake disk from a heavy truck transmission around the clutch shaft on these tractors. I am familiar with those on old Mack trucks and they are made to open up and slip in place around the shaft before snapping back together to make them a circle again
I think they are cheap and if one can be found to fit, should not require clutch removal
You dont have to remove the clutch, just unbolt the coupling, 3H4121, the clutch disc are on the coupling. Unless tractors before 5U13237 dont have a coupling? Never had an early one opened up.
The d2 5u is a early one that it says that it bolt to the back of the case
They don't really say what the material is, just a clutch brake facing that is riveted to a plate bolted to the case. Could be brake material or bronze impregnated brake type lining material, most likely with asbestos of the era.
