Since Fathers Day is Sunday I thought I would share some photos. On my last trip to Oklahoma on Memorial Weekend i found the invoice and purchase order from my dad's tractor. I hope the size of the copy is large enough to read. the other photos are of me, a long time ago,and the D-4 after an overhaul and paint job. As far as I can remember this was from about '61 or '62. The center photo is Dad and me. The last one is dad on the Cat and my brother on an Allis-Chalmers D-14 plowing an alfalfa field.
My dad was a good farmer, a hard worker and a fine example of a man. The Cat was just one of tractors he had in his life but the one i will always remember. It didn't make him the person he was but it is its one of my favorite memories. Dad has been gone about 10 years now but I think of him when I visit this forum and I smile thinking he would enjoy it also.
Happy Fathers Day to all you dads.

Really nice to have those records! You knew your father, but it's hard to communicate to the next and the next generation sometimes.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

My Dad died way too young at 58. He was happiest when he was on a Cat. Late in his life, he planted some stone fruit amongst all the non-till ag around here so he could have something to disk. I think of him and miss him everyday. He too would enjoy this forum. Happy Father's Day, Dad.

Yes, a Great Father's Day to all the dads out there. .
Lost my dad at 53 when I was just 21....have some great memories
but the only one of a tractor was on a JD B cultivating corn when I was about 6-7yrs old.
Didn't grow up around crawlers....just small IHC, Oliver's and JD's in the late 30's n' 40's.

Hope you all have good weather for the weekend.

Thanks Pete for sharing your story. I know my sons have learned over the years how to work and accomplish tasks, but they would laugh and say its by doing the opposite that i did. I wish that I and other fathers could take a lesson from your dad about patience and perseverance in teaching.
And to Dads and Grandpas and men who are role models to children thansk and have a happy fathers day.
