I am SO glad we don’t actively farm anymore. We do feel for our tenant farmers as well as friends that still fight it. One of my best friends family has farmed for over 100 years, and ready to throw the towel in, the return on investment isn’t there anymore.
As a child, I remember the UFW striking next door. I thought for sure the marchers were going to pull me off the tractor and beat me. Only time in my life I was scared. Ten years old as I recall. They didn’t succeed, the neighbor hired lots of Sikhs from India to take the place of the Hispanics and Filipinos instead!!!
