I am doing some Fall cleanup on the farm.
A quick photo of my version of the 3 Amigos. One is going to Pennsylvania in the spring. Breadler is fixated on the 3J which I purchased for parts. The 5 roller D4 aka “Smokey” might be re-homed as well. Too much junk here! JM
That’s a neat seat hydraulic unit all in one. What’s the story behind it?
Hi, JM.
Oh, so you've finally decided to make room for a D8 to make up for the one you SLEPT through????
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Good looking lineup!
CR: I’ve only encountered one D2 with this hydraulic seat base, this is a BeGe knock off I am guessing.Myself or Breadler will try to use a block off plate to cover up the heiny on the 3J for now. It is one very homely and sad machine lol. Too much effort to revive it.
In my reading, the Oliver is supposed to be between weight and horsepower of a D4 and D2. It looks like it from the size comparison. I don’t know what its future is if/when it gets to Pennsylvania. Talk of converting back to a top seat or keeping it as an orchard unit.
The D4 runs, but it’s well used. HOWEVER, the bottom end/rails/pads are almost perfect. It has potential for restoration or makes a great organ donor. What to do?I certainly don’t need 15 D4s. What a dilemma! JM
JM - Just build a bigger shed, then the room is no problem. Just think of all the fun you can have jostling them around when it gets crowded. -cts
JM, Im with CTS on this one
The Oliver would be a neat tractor to rebuild as is, lots of history in that type of setup, not as popular as the D2 Tail seat or TD6 Tail seat. I see that mystery hydraulic unit is the same one that I have usually seen pictures fro the rear, here I was thinking you were collecting mystery tailseat hydraulic units.
