When I got my D2 5U the spring had some broken leaves in it so I took it to a local spring shop and had a new pack built.

on mine the bottom leaf has the ends worn down a lot to I had the bottom leaf replaced , that alone lifted the front 2-3 inches

Hi Ross,
as well as the spring ends wearing, there are pads in the u-shape spring keepers on the track frame that the spring ends bear upon that wear also.
There is a ratio effect, due to the position of the spring on the machine, in that a small amount of wear lowers the front significantly.
Often building up the pads a bit extra, to allow for the spring wear, will get the front of the machine back near standard height and overcome the droopy nose look.
Cheers,
Eddie B.
