I have a D6 9U. When I pull the starter pinion control lever, it does not engage. Is there an adjustment that can be made? My e-mail is [email protected]

From what you describe the pinion engagement mechanism has probably come apart (typical problem). Will require pulling the pinion engagement assembly to repair, which also requires lifting or removing the pony motor to clear the pony drive gear.

If a D2 is the same , I had a similar problem where the fingers extended out to far and locked up on the edges - was able to shim to limit movement within tolerance without removing assembly- from memory. Bob
