Early D4 6U Regulator options ?

Call up CAT dealer, I expect they will sub it out for you and you will wind up with a standard thin flanged automotive style that rests on the gasket ledge and a gasket that fits around it.

Or go to auto parts house and select one, they may have a listing for D311 or D2.

The 6F-9467 regulator and 8B-9828 retainer fits 6U-1 to 6U9063.

The later style regulator requires a housing change to a 2H-5847 (no retaining ring) and was used from 6U9064-up.

I don't have any info on that last series of numbers for conversion. Would be curious to know where the info came from and if it works😊

Now I know with info you gave me my tractor should have a housing to suit the 6F-9467 Reg,

Old magnet would you possibly please have a scan of the older style lower housing to suit the 6F-9467 regulator and one of the newer style housing please out of the parts book.
In my D315 service manual the picture of the housing looks to be a very generic picture ( Just a flow diagram ) and I cant compare it to my housing, Be a big help so I can order the correct regulator please.

I have contacted the local Cat dealer all of the parts quoted are discontinued but the 6F-9467,8F8817 ( regulators ) are still available.

Old magnet I found the info for the update on a service gram that OzDozer had posted on one of the forums, If I can find the thread again , I will post a link to it for you

CC I have thought about what you have suggested, but when the regulator opens it shuts off the bypass channel, and trying to find a aftermarket automotive one that will close the bypass channel off maybe impossible to find, but you never know.
