I have a D69U with a 12 ft angle blade and about 1/2 of 1400 ft ditch back filled. Field idlers and blade is 1/2 mile in front of the radiator. The spoils had to be 3 feet from the edge for safety. I found that pushing from the spoils side at a slight angle past the ditch the raising the blade and back dragging over works after lots of trial and error.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

That is probably as good as it gets with the limited angle capability you have, I own a 9U with the same blade and had a 460 foot ditch I did the same way. I went back and cleaned it up again after leaving a nice ridge to settle when I was done. By limited angle capability I mean there is an angle that would allow you to line up with the spoils and plow it right in there, but it isn't available to you with only one angle position per side. You didn't want to finish too quickly did you?

You're sure right and controlling that long blade on uneven ground was hard too.
Going to finish up with the D47J pulling a #33 pull grader today.
Thanks again

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
