My question is: What is the purpose of the bracket bolted to the push arm of this dozer? It’s held by 3 bolts.
This is one of several owned by one of our tenant farmers. They recently dozed out an under performing cling peach orchard, and prepping for a re-plant. Not too bad considering it was still an orchard 35 days ago.
48 hours to burn the trees, and some wire to clean up.
Yes, the D8T isn’t an antique, and not an SA machine( sorry Neil) I rarely see the owners, and the operator only knows when it’s lunch time and the end of his shift…
If it is still out here, I’ll take some more pictures. These guys don’t mess around; not uncommon for them to move a machine more than once a day to different jobs.

Looks like it used to have a hand rail attached.

I tracked down that guy in the Ag Trader that had that D8L SA for sale and he said he'd send photos and videos but didn't manage to get it done. I'm languishing...... He said his buddy had craved that tractor for years (I fully understand that : ) and when Carson finally decided to sell, it was a foregone conclusion that the buddy would buy it.

Sounds like he forgot about his buddy, if he placed an ad to sell it! Glad he got to buy it after all.
No more pictures of the D8T. I got out to the ranch and they already moved to a new field.
Seems I forgot that I offered to disc the field for them, so I will get some seat time and get paid for eating some nice dirt.
I might have to create some type of spinning arrow/ wheel to choose which tractor to use. The biggest disc I had close by was an Allis Chalmers "L" , and I really wanted to use the HD6E to be color coordinated, but I had better choose a yellow one instead. JM

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
