Where is the best source for blade edges? I have a 10' blade on a D7-3T. It takes a 92" one piece center and finish bits on the ends.

Hi I would firstly get a price from the Caterpillar supplier. They can often be competitive. Not being from your area i couldn't suggest an after market supplier.

You can look for an after market supplier of tracks, bucket teeth, etc.

I used to get good prices and service from a company that handled cutting edges, and bits made by the Bucyrus-Erie Company. I had an old LeTourneau pull pan that I couldn't get cutting edges for...I measured up what I needed and they ordered them for me. They had to make them but the cost was still very resonable. Took about 3 weeks if I remember right. I bought a lot of cutting edges and bits that they had in stock but the Let was just to old and out of date.

I ended up ordering it directly from my CAT dealer. The main edge, end bits, and hardware ran about $680. They are genuine cat parts so I shouldn't have to worry about quality plus I'm only 30m miles from the dealer, so no freight.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
