this is attached to the back of the oil pressure gauge one wire from the alternator and the other goes to the amp gauge??

would like to know what this is so I can search for the part.

I’m guessing pressure switch. When oil pressure comes up to operating, it kicks off to signal your alternator to go to work.

You can also run a electric hour meter by using the oil pressure switch as power for meter.
