in my d4 i don't use cat coolant. the cat product is expensive.

i use Australian organic coolants eco-cool aoc1000 at 7.5% concentrate to clean de-mineralised or rainwater service life of 5yrs 200,000Km in passenger and light commercials or 12,000hrs 6yrs 1million Km in heavy duty vehicles suitable for all types of engines and metal types including mixed metal engines.

Fully Organic, biodegradable and safe: Biodegradable and contains no environmentally harmful borates, molybdates, phosphates, amines, nitrates, silicates or nitrites and is ethylene glycol free.

note it is only for applications where anti-freeze is NOT required

they also have a product called aoc5000 which is an anti-freeze/anti-boil formulation.

in saying that if your using the cat deac product no you shouldn't need any other additives besides your not working it for a living it is in active retirement an old d6 wouldnt rev hard enough to overcome any cavitation protection deac provides since it is designed for modern equipment not our old iron. and really since your in Florida which is very similar climate to my area you should only need a basic coolant.

instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
