I have a Us 7 fleet Cat 12grader , serial number 535 which is pre 9k so I am lead to believe but looks the same.

Can someone help with the differences between the 9k and 1947 8t graders tandem drive.

wondering what parts would be the same?

thankyou

About 25 les hp (D4600 engine 75 hp instead of the D318 @ 100 used in the 8T series)

Generally lower speeds in every gear with top speed being less than 16 mph vs a little less than 20 on the 8T.

There are probably other changes in parts between the two, but very similar graders. Most likely where there are differences in internal parts of a component like a gearbox for example, if you swap the whole box, you may be able to interchange. I don't have any parts books to compare directly though.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

If it were pre 9K, tandem drive and diesel it would be #11 6K series with D6600 (3-cyl) engine.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
